Following the success of The Ladies who Lunch event two of the owner’s sisters Olivia Edwards and Laura Griffin are rolling it out as regular ladies lunch event as well as many others.

The first event was in July with an incredible turn out and entertainment which raised the bar for the following event that took place last Thursday: – Ladies who lunch and drink pink gin!

Babbo handed out a pink gin cocktail to the first 30 ladies (in association with Cuckoo Gin) as many arrived in flattering pink outfits to match the theme. A few VIPs including BBC newsreader Michelle Eagleton (pictured in stripy top) and an X Factor celebrity attended. There was live music by the incredible sax player Aaron Turner aka Carlo Sax Junior who was accompanied on several tracks by Carlo Sax himself (The Father & Son duo were simply electric). This followed swiftly by an incredible surprise act from the flair bar academy – Martin from the academy performed to a captive audience of mainly ladies thrusting to sex bomb while mixing cocktails and flaring. Amazing act!

There was another surprise that followed – Maxine Warner from Lemon Tree and Warner entertainment brought the house down with her rendition of Nessun Dorma.   Maxine simply brought the event to silence while she performed, simply wow!

Lucy Foden owner of the stylish boutique Lulu Dot brought a small pop up boutique to showcase some of her AW18 collection and jewellery which went down a treat with a few purchases made

The £9.95 lunch menu has proved to be a winner with guests, many coming back and re booking. There was a prosecco offer for £12.95 and cocktails were made for several birthdays and an anniversary of competition winner Lolanda Taylor.

Olivia and Laura say: – “We are simply overwhelmed with the response from the ladies lunch events so far” It is really getting our name out there as a recently rebranded restaurant – formally Saporitos. Babbo (Italian for Dad) has brought a whole new style of clientele for the restaurant as well as maintaining the loyal regulars and families which is what we are well known for”.

The event was organised by The Edge Events who work closely with the restaurant, assisting with PR and events as well as managing the guest list and all the finer details.

There was an incredible turnout of 200 VIPs to experience the enticing new setting. The upstairs venue is spacious yet welcoming, especially its capacity to host an array of groups, from couples to large corporate bookings. Two bars and a capacity of 440 means that everyone is included in the sophisticated Ocean Treasure venture.

Ocean Treasure is now situated upstairs on 23 Peter Street, overlooking glamorous sister restaurant Sakana. The unique layout allows visitors to observe the tasteful décor of both restaurants, culminating in one of the most exquisite dining experiences in Manchester.

The red carpet was rolled out for this special occasion, with an exclusive guest list. Guests were greeted from 6pm with a complimentary glass of prosecco and canapés. Entertainment was provided by incredible and highly sought-after Calum Bayliss from Six15, a deep and soulful saxophone player. Bayliss is already the number one choice for large parties and the wow factor he possesses makes it hard to believe he is only 20. Bayliss collaborated with celebrity DJ Dean Fagan, who played heartthrob mechanic Luke Britton in Coronation Street. One of the nation’s sweethearts, Dean prides himself on his vibrant and diverse DJ sets, performing funk, soul, R&B, hip-hop and house music at festivals and high-profile events.
