Hit the reset button with Reiki Master Lisa Harris

Introducing the former catwalk model who now transforms the lives of others using healing power of reiki – an ancient therapy benefiting millions worldwide including A List celebrities.

We met Lisa at her elegant practice in the heart of Wilmslow. She’s serene, grounded with the warmest smile. Here she opens up about her personal Journey into Reiki and reveals the therapies potentially life changing benefits. 

From high fashion to healing

Reiki Master Lisa has lived the kind of life you see on the big screen. As a professional model, she spent years gracing the catwalk of Paris and Milan and later was approached by Mattel to become the famous toy manufacturer’s official “real life” Barbie. As a much-adored “living doll” her world was a blaze of TV and media appearances and work for children’s charities.

However, following an extremely difficult divorce, mother of two Lisa’s life abruptly changed.

“I began drinking too much as a way of coping” she admits. “When I decided to stop – I’ve been sober for 12 years now – it took me down a spiritual path and that’s where I discovered the power of reiki and was immediately drawn to it”

A total reset for body and mind 

“Reiki is energy healing” explains Lisa. “Every living thing has a life-force energy flowing through it and sometimes this energy becomes misaligned. There are seven different energy points – known as “chakras” running from the top of your head to the base of your spine. Reiki involves a light touch of the palm to these points to deliver healing energy”

The therapy has not only attracted a long list of famous fans (Gwyneth Paltrow, Camron Diaz, Angelina Jolie, Nicole Kidman, and Meghan Markie are all reported to be followers) but it is now used in hospitals and hospices worldwide to compliment traditional health interventions.  

A passion for helping others 

“The list of conditions that reiki can help address is incredibly wide-ranging,” says Lisa. “and it’s particularly good for anxiety and stress, which so many of us have encountered since the pandemic hit and our lives were thrown out of kilter. It’s so incredibly relaxing, many clients do fall asleep”

As well as treating private clients at her Wilmslow practice Lisa is also a Reiki Master at the Delamere, the UK’s first purpose-built addiction treatment clinic in Northwich. 

“Helping addicts is something extremely close to my heart” explains Lisa, “I’m incredibly proud of my work at Delamere. For me using reiki to support a personal journey into recovery I priceless”

Day 1 – Southampton to Dover

Arrived at 3pm for a 6pm departure, we go through the terminal, showed our passport and boarding pass on the app, health checks including PCR results and before we knew it we are were being welcome onto the ship by the friendliest bunch of people ever.. no waiting no delays altogether it took around 12 mins.

Because of the Covid issues, there were excellent procedures in place to keep everyone safe, sanitizers, masks, social distancing, and limited capacity, only 1000 guests on a 2300 capacity ship. Everyone abided by the rules, without feeling too restricted, masks were worn when moving around inside the ship, only 4 in a lift with 2 meters between you.

We were directed to our Deluxe Stateroom with balcony in Aquaclass, which comes with some nice privileges. Including Blu restaurant, Jasmine Gardens with hotbeds and sauna. My first impression of the ship was wow!!! It’s amazing, incredible, the attention to detail is on point and it showed. We unpacked and went roaming around the ship. The Celebrity Silhouette® is impressive, with chic upgrades to the iconic Lawn Club, space to relax, and socialize in the fresh sea air, plus the Lawn Club Grill offers an interactive outdoor grilling experience. After a day of adventure you can unwind in your own cabana-styled haven at The Alcoves. 85% of the ship’s luxurious staterooms are enhanced by sweeping veranda views. Celebrity Cruises have created an extraordinary vacation experience.

Time for cocktails at one of 12 bars and dinner at Blu. Aqua Class guests’ exclusive complimentary restaurant, superb!!! There are 14 dining locations including 6 speciality restaurants including my favour Murano (French) Featuring tableside cooking and flambé dishes, the à la carte menu consists of four courses (appetisers, soups and salads, entrées and desserts) whilst the Five Senses tasting menu comprises of six courses paired with wine and designed to stimulate your senses. Day 2 – Dover to Belfast

The day started with a barmy 21 degrees.. nice as it’s raining at home. There are lots of activities to choose from, but more suited to those who just want to relax, there are live bands playing by the pool, and we even see a few celebrities enjoying the pool and jacuzzi. Our day was spent on the deck enjoying the sunshine with a few glasses of champagne.. a spa treatment  then dinner and an amazing show “Life” fit for the West End. A few night caps and time for bed.

Day 3 – At Sea

Pamper day at the spa, wine tasting, followed by crafts class, a talk by motivational speaker and Olympian Derek Redmond, a few hours at my first art auction, purchase a few pieces, then dinner at the amazing Le Petit Chef speciality restaurant where you experience the fusion of entertainment and cuisine, they use 3d animation on the plate to show how the food is prepared. This dining experience is beautifully choreographed with an elegant menu created by Michelin Star Chef. Le Petit Chef ™ offered on Celebrity Cruises® is simply one of the most unique dining events in the world. amazing and delicious. The night is concluded with cocktails and the theatre for a magic show and a nice win in the casino.

Day 4 – Belfast Ireland

Breakfast in bed.. no excursions booked, stayed on the ship, completed 12,000 steps then sunbathing beside the pool, a few glasses of champagne. There are lots of activities to choose from, however decided to chill in the  beautiful 22 degrees sunshine. Tonight we are booked into the French Munroe restaurant. The food and service best ever.. Lobster cooked in front of you. 

Day 5 – Liverpool

A chilled day, listening to the sound of the Beatles, there are lots of tours to choose from around Liverpool but stayed on the ship.  Dinner in Blu and then the Football great result everyone is happy.

Day 6 – Heading back to Southampton

Day 6 heading back to Southampton via Lands End and all though the trip the sun has been shining, the staff from all over the world have been outstanding with everyone we came across giving 100% to make your trip special..
