How Much Can Employees Really Save with an Employee Discount Programme?

Employee discount programmes have become an increasingly popular part of modern employee benefits packages.

Employee discount programmes have become an increasingly popular part of modern employee benefits packages.

But one question often comes up from both employers and employees: How much can people actually save?

Small Savings That Create a Big Impact
Often, it’s the everyday savings that deliver the greatest value.

Whether it’s shopping, dining out, travel, entertainment, or leisure activities, regular discounts can help employees make their money go further without changing their lifestyle.

Over the course of a year, savings can accumulate across multiple areas, including:

  • Retail and high street shopping
  • Supermarket spending
  • Restaurants and dining
  • Travel and holidays
  • Entertainment and leisure activities
  • Health and wellbeing services

While a single discount may seem modest, the combined impact across multiple purchases becomes significant.

Why Usage Matters
The biggest factor influencing employee savings isn’t the discount itself, it’s engagement.

Many employee discount programmes offer access to valuable offers, but employees don’t always remember to use them.

The employees who see the greatest value are often those who make benefits part of their regular purchasing habits.

A simple check before booking a hotel, planning a day out, or making a retail purchase can often unlock meaningful savings.

This is why accessibility and ease of use are so important when selecting an employee benefits platform.

The Categories That Deliver the Most Value
While every employee will use benefits differently, some categories consistently generate higher levels of savings.

Travel and Holidays
Travel often delivers some of the largest individual savings opportunities.

Whether it’s a UK short break, family holiday, hotel booking, or leisure trip, discounts can quickly reduce the overall cost of travel throughout the year.

Dining and Entertainment
For employees who regularly enjoy meals out, cinema trips, attractions, or family activities, these savings can add up surprisingly quickly.

Everyday Retail Spending
Retail discounts can provide ongoing value across clothing, technology, homeware, gifts, and other household purchases.

Because these purchases happen regularly, employees often benefit from repeated savings throughout the year.

More Than Just Financial Savings
The impact of an employee discount programme extends beyond pounds and pence.

When employees feel supported and can access benefits that help reduce everyday costs, organisations often see wider benefits such as:

  • Improved employee satisfaction
  • Increased engagement
  • Enhanced retention
  • Stronger employer branding

This makes employee discount programmes valuable for both employees and employers alike.

Turning Everyday Spending into Everyday Value
Employee discount programmes work best when they deliver genuine, practical value.

By helping employees save across the purchases they already make, businesses can create a benefits package that employees actively use and appreciate.

Reset & Rise Summer Party

Brings Wellness I Connection & Inspiration to Manchester

The Reset & Rise Summer Party brought a vibrant celebration of business, wellbeing and connection to Manchester city centre, transforming Gusto Manchester into a stunning botanical sanctuary.

Guests certainly got the memo, arriving in vibrant oranges, hot pinks and botanical prints as they graced the red carpet. Set against the backdrop of the hottest day of the year, it quickly became one of our most talked about events to date.

The vision behind Reset & Rise was simple. To create a space where women could feel seen, heard and supported whilst taking time to focus on both their health and their business. A chance to pause, reset and rise.

In partnership with Hustle & Health, the event immediately set the tone with warmth, positivity and an incredible sense of community. As they say on their website:

“We are here for the women doing it all, who are done putting their health on the back burner. We coach women aged 35+ through the rollercoaster of midlife health with a warm, no-nonsense approach that brings strength and self-trust back into your life.”

The atmosphere was electric from the moment guests arrived.

Natalie Guyan and Catherine Lynch, affectionately known as Cat & Nat (please do not ask who is the tallest!), welcomed guests on the red carpet and hosted interviews with our incredible brand sponsors, creating a relaxed and engaging atmosphere before the main event began.

Throughout the afternoon we celebrated those who truly embodied the spirit of the event.

Best Dressed was awarded to Aneesa Rasul, chosen by Hustle & Health, alongside Teana Lynne, selected by our fantastic host Henry Ditchfield from the BBC.

Our Most Inspirational awards went to Paula Hanney and Louise Rainford of Freedom & Flow Retreats, whose work has transformed the lives of so many women through their retreats in Portugal and beyond.

Our Champion Guest award was presented to regular attendee Lindsay Hofman, recognised for her unwavering support of the community and her work in holistic therapies and permanent makeup. Runner up prizes were also presented throughout the afternoon.

I wanted this event to feel soulful, authentic and organic and it exceeded every expectation.

Working alongside the incredibly talented Events by Nashe, the venue was transformed into a breathtaking woodland inspired botanical setting. Every detail had been carefully considered, creating an atmosphere that perfectly reflected the Reset & Rise theme.

Guests were welcomed by the soulful sounds of Ed K Sax whilst enjoying a vitality juice or a glass of bubbly before taking their seats.

Cat & Nat then took to the stage, sharing practical, actionable advice around health, wellbeing and how prioritising yourself can positively impact your business.

Every guest also received a beautifully engraved power bank presented in a branded gift bag, with additional luxury goody bags kindly provided by Gusto Manchester in collaboration with Lush.

Guests enjoyed an abundance of delicious canapés including arancini, chocolate desserts, refreshing sorbets and a selection of dishes showcasing the flavours of Gusto’s menu.

Adding another layer of entertainment, David Burgess Magician amazed guests throughout the afternoon with close up magic that left everyone asking, “How did he do that?” David also entertained guests on the red carpet, adding even more energy and interaction to the experience.

Our wellness theme continued through our fantastic brand sponsors, including Gut Harmony Mamma and Tropic by Teana Lynne. Also joining us was Caroline Nield, ND Clarity Coach, a valued sponsor and familiar face within our community, who travels from London to attend every event.

Premium Brand Sponsor Samantha Cameron also joined us on the red-carpet stage, sharing valuable insights into social media strategy and personal branding.

Beautiful, branded cupcakes, created by Sunlight Pastries & More, were once again a talking point, adding another thoughtful finishing touch to the event.

The day was professionally captured on film by Maid of Memories and beautifully photographed by Joanna Wood Photography. Additional behind the scenes content was created by Beth J Create, with supporting reels captured by Captured by Candy, ensuring every special moment was preserved.

Following the main event, VIP guests enjoyed an exclusive two course lunch and intimate Q&A session

with Hustle & Health and Samantha Cameron, offering an even deeper dive into wellbeing, business and personal growth.

The celebrations then continued at The Alchemist Spinningfields, where guests carried on networking, strengthening existing relationships and creating exciting new connections.

The event was proudly powered by Elevate Magazine, whose continued support helps elevate every experience. Their contribution ensured guests felt welcomed, looked after and able to fully enjoy the day from start to finish.

Guests left feeling energised, inspired and ready to Reset & Rise in both life and business. New collaborations were formed; confidence was restored and meaningful conversations continued long after the event had ended.

A heartfelt thank you to every sponsor, collaborator, supplier and guest who helped make this event so special.

With love,

Lyn x
